3x3 logic grid puzzles
A 3x3 logic grid puzzle has three people and three categories, so there are only nine facts to find. It is the smallest size that still needs real reasoning, which makes it ideal for learning the moves or for a two-minute break.
Here the three categories are always the neighbour’s name plus two of door colour, pet, drink, job and hobby. Each puzzle has between four and six clues.

A taste of puzzle 1
3 neighbours live in houses 1 to 3. Here are its clues:
- Ada lives in house 2.
- Ada is the cyclist 🚲.
- The neighbour with the red door lives next door to the cyclist 🚲.
- House 1 has the green door.
- The gardener 🌱 does not live in house 1.
- Finn lives directly to the left of Ada.
How a 3x3 grid works
Each row of the grid is a category and each column is a house. Every house has exactly one value from each row, and every value is in exactly one house. With three houses, ruling out two options always places the third.
Bigger grids use the same rules with more rows and columns. When these are easy, step up to 4x4 logic grid puzzles.
