Lantern Lane

6x5 logic grid puzzles

Six houses and five categories: thirty facts, and a street one house longer than Einstein’s riddle. The extra house matters more than it sounds, because “next door to” and “left of” clues now leave many more possibilities open.

These are the largest puzzles on Lantern Lane and the same size as the Sunday daily puzzle. Each takes most solvers well over half an hour.

How to approach a six-house grid

Spend the first few minutes only on position clues. Write down every edge effect, then look for two clues about the same item; their overlap is usually small.

“Is not” clues are worth more here than in smaller grids. With six options in a row, every one you remove is a step closer to a forced placement.

Or play today’s daily puzzle, a new street every day from a gentle Monday to a fiendish Sunday.
